Boys Progressive Classes

Boys Kindergarten Class

60 min.

Athletes learn beginning level skills on traditional boy’s apparatus. They will work on basic skills for floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar, building greater confidence for skill development including but not limited to: pullovers, straight arm rolls, handstand and cartwheel variations, bridges and bridge kick-overs, swinging and circling elements on bars, and position swings on parallel bars and still rings. 

Each school-age class is designed for both children who may have little to no gymnastics experience as well as for those who are beginning to master basic gymnastics skills. Coaches are knowledgeable in skill progressions and will work with all gymnasts up to each child’s ability, while also focusing on building confidence, independence, problem solving, persistence, and positive self-esteem and self-image. 

 

Boys 1st Grade Class

60 min.

Boys 4th Grade & Up Class

60 min.

Ninja Kindergarten Class

60 min.
This class is for boys and girls who are above 5 years of age and in Kindergarten class. Learning jump, flips, kicks in sequence “Ninja” Tumbling skills.

 

 

Boys Freestyle 1st-5th Grade Class

60 min.

This class is for boys who are above 6 years of age in 1st Grade or above (up to 7th grade). Bring your moves and build your skills! Freestyle gymnastics classes, for boys 6 years old and up, will incorporate many gymnastic skills for use in activities such as Parkour, free running, tricking, cross training, and ninja skills in a safer training environment. Boys will work on skills that interest them, guided by our awesome staff. 

 

 

Boys Freestyle 6th-12th Grade Class

60 min.

Advanced training with more freedom! Athletes will work on tumbling skills, trampolines, block jumps and more. “Tricker’’, snow boarder or retired gymnasts are encouraged to join.  
The class starts with a warmup and stretching all together and then each person works on what they want with or without help from the coach but with guidance. Before the end, everybody gets together for a group conditioning. 

 

Boys Strength for All Sports Class (1st Grade & Up)

This class is for boys who are above 6 years of age in 1st Grade or above (up to 7th grade). Athletes will work on full body strength in the gymnastics environment. Some moves are related to gymnastics skills (for example hold on still rings), and others will be general fitness exercises.  The athletes will have the opportunity for ample repetitions and the lesson plan will be adjusted but consistent each class. The young athlete will be encouraged to hold longer, do one more push up than usual and squat with the most efficient form. 

Over time, this practice will help them gain confidence in the sport they like to practice all the time or that they would like to introduce. 

This class is a great way for any athlete to cross train or to gain strength to be a better gymnast!  

 

 

All Events Gymnastics (1st Grade & Up)

Mini-Hops Gymnastics is continually striving to enhance the development of each child.  Our All event Gymnastics Program class provides life-long fitness skills for school-age children who can get to the gym.  The areas of discipline that will be covered include: Fitness, confidence building, gross motor training, and ball sport training.  

 

 

Boys Invitation Only Classes

Boys Intermediate and Advanced

Formerly known as Boys Level 1/2

This is an invitation-only class designed for gymnasts who have mastered basic gymnastics, strength, focus, and personal confidence to begin moving on to more complex gymnastics skills. Each level has an ability appropriate skill-based curriculum designed to build upon the skills learned and mastered in the previous level. Due to the progressive nature of the program coaches will evaluate for mobility to the next level. Students may remain in a level for up to a full year or more before acquiring all of the skills necessary to advance.  In Level 1-3 students will be working towards front and back handsprings, on floor; kips, front tucks, tap swings, handstand pirouettes, parallel bar swings, and circles on mushroom; handspring on vault; and much more! 

Attendance 2 times a week is highly recommended at this level. Combining with non-invitational classes, like boys strength for all sports, freestyle’s offering, open training or open gym is a great way to build the strength and flexibility required to attain higher level skills.
