What is the Polar Plunge?
The Polar Plunge is the biggest fundraiser for Special Olympics Minnesota. All funds raised by Plungers help Special Olympics Minnesota provide year-round training and services to thousands of athletes with intellectual disabilities across the state.
The Polar Plunge is presented by the Law Enforcement Torch Run, a movement of volunteers dedicated to increasing awareness and funds for Special Olympics Minnesota athletes across the state.
Donation Impact.
We need YOUR help to reach our $20,000 goal!
Mini-Hops Gymnastics is a non-profit and has had the largest Special Olympics Gymnastics team in the state of MN and an amazing group of volunteer coaches for 40+ years. The Polar Plunge has become a favorite winter tradition that raises money to support our team. We are part of Special Olympics’ shared revenue program, which means 50% of what our team raises will go directly back to the team at MHG! These funds help us purchase uniforms and provide the competitive experience for our growing team of 35+ athletes. You can start your tradition with us today. Anyone can be part of our plunge team. You can even do it virtually, or in person. Our athlete Lucy Haugland was selected and competed in the 2022 USA Games in Florida and earned 5 medals. Now we get to follow Tiffany Carey’s journey after she was selected to compete in the World Games in Berlin, Germany in June of 2023. We couldn’t have provided this programming for these outstanding athletes without the support of your donations.
