Girls Gymnastics Classes
Girls Kindergarten Class
60 min
This class is perfect for kindergarten girls with beginner to intermediate gymnastics experience. Students will learn essential skills on traditional apparatuses like the floor, beam, bars and vault, along with some exposure to other events like still rings and parallel bars when possible. They’ll build strength, coordination, and confidence as they practice skills such as cartwheels, handstands, pullovers, and rolls. Coaches provide a supportive environment where young gymnasts also work on listening skills and following directions. Students generally remain in this level for several years, developing foundational skills before advancing. Instructors regularly evaluate students for safety, strength, and readiness for the next level.
*Student must be at least 5 years old and in Kindergarten in order to participate in a Kindergarten class.
Girls 1st Grade Class
60 min
Designed for first-grade girls with beginner to intermediate experience, this class focuses on building fundamental gymnastics skills on apparatuses like the floor, beam, bars and vault. Gymnasts work on key skills such as cartwheels, handstands, pullovers, rolls, trampoline drops, and safety falls, all while building strength and self-confidence. Students typically stay in the grade level program for a few years before advancing as they progress through the skills required for advancement. Instructors regularly evaluate students for safety, strength, and skill readiness.
Girls 2nd-3rd Grade Class
This class is tailored for girls in 2nd and 3rd grades with beginner to intermediate gymnastics skills. Students will learn on apparatuses such as the floor, beam, bars and vault, all while building strength and self-confidence to support ongoing skill development. They’ll practice skills like cartwheels, handstands, pullovers, rolls, and more. Gymnasts generally remain in this program level for a few years before advancing, and instructors will regularly assess them for safety, strength, and readiness for the next level.
Girls 4th Grade & Up Class
This program is for girls in 4th grade or higher with beginner to intermediate experience. Students focus on fundamental skills on traditional apparatuses like the floor, beam, bars and vault, while working on strength and confidence. They’ll practice a variety of skills, including cartwheels, handstands, pullovers, rolls, and safety techniques. Gymnasts typically stay in this level for a few years before advancing, with ongoing evaluations by instructors for safety and skill readiness.
Girls 6th Grade & Up Class
For girls in 6th grade and up, this class supports beginner to intermediate gymnasts who want to build on fundamental skills on floor, beam, bars and vault. Students work on core skills like cartwheels, handstands, pullovers, rolls, and more advanced movements as they progress. Gymnasts often remain at this level for a few years before advancing, and instructors consistently evaluate them for strength, safety, and readiness for the next level.
All Events Gymnastics (1st Grade & Up)
At Mini-Hops Gymnastics, we are dedicated to fostering the development of each child. Our All Events Gymnastics Program provides lifelong fitness skills for school-age children who are eager to learn. In this class, each event is taught in its traditional form—rings as boys typically learn them and beam as girls do—regardless of the athlete’s gender. This inclusive approach ensures every child gains confidence, strength, and versatility across a variety of gymnastics disciplines.
Gymnastics Strength for All Sports Class (6th Grade & Up)
Ratio 9:1 – 60 min.This class caters to girls enrolled in Middle School and High School (6th grade and up). Participants will focus on enhancing overall body strength within a gymnastics-oriented setting. While some exercises may be connected to gymnastics skills, such as holding still rings, the emphasis is on repetitive movements. The lesson plan remains consistent but can be adjusted to cater to individual needs in every class.
Athletes will be challenged to extend their holds, perform additional push-ups and execute squats with optimal form. This training aims to enhance their comfort and proficiency in their preferred sport or introduce them to new activities. Could be combined with a level class.
Girls Upper Level Program
These classes are designed for gymnasts who have developed good basic gymnastics ability and personal confidence through the Progressive Classes to begin moving on to more complicated gymnastics skills. In this level, gymnasts will begin preparation for learning more complicated acrobatics on all events. Gymnasts may remain in this level for up to a full year or more before acquiring all of the skills necessary to advance. Students will be consistently evaluated by their instructor for safety, strength, and skill readiness for the next level.
Girls Intermediate
90 min
Previously known as Girls Level 1
This is a by evaluation class designed for gymnasts who have mastered basic gymnastics, strength, focus, and personal confidence to begin moving on to more complex gymnastics skills. Skills covered will include, but are not limited to: back handsprings, gliding, casting and circling skills on bars, acrobatics on low and medium beams, handstand flatback vaults, and gymnastics specific conditioning. Gymnasts may remain at each level for up to a full year or more before acquiring all of the skills necessary to advance. Students will be consistently evaluated by their instructor for safety, strength, and skill readiness for the next level.
Girls Advanced
90 min – Recommended attending class 2x/week.
This is a by evaluation class designed for gymnasts who have progressed through the skills in our Intermediate class and are ready for more advanced skills on all events. Skills covered will include but are not limited to: back and front handsprings, moving tumbling, upgraded circling skills, kipping, and going to high bar on bars, advancing leaps, jumps, turns and acro skills to the high beam, front handspring vaults, and more intense gymnastics specific conditioning. Gymnasts may remain at each level for up to a full year or more before acquiring all of the skills necessary to advance. Students will be consistently evaluated by their instructor for safety, strength, and skill readiness for the next level.
Girls Ultra Advanced / Off-Season High School Training
Open Training
Mini Hops Gymnastics offers “Open Training” for athletes who have big gym experience and would like extra time to work on skills mostly independent, but can request assistance from the instructor, if needed. This is a 90-minute invite only training time to be used by the more serious athletes with specific objectives and skills to train. Open Training is only offered to skill-focused approved athletes in upper-level classes, adult classes and the following teams; Special Olympics, Xcel/DP, Boys, and Tramp & Tumbling team. Upon entering the gym, approved and registered, athletes should check-in with the instructor to review the rules and the apparatus available, as it varies from week to week. Athletes must be able to follow safety protocols set by coaches independently.
