Jeff has been involved in the sport of gymnastics since he was six years old. He began coaching at the gym where he competed, in Kansas and worked there from 1993 to 1998. Jeff joined the Navy in 1998 while serving for four years he continued coaching gymnastics on a part-time basis. After his service was complete he stayed in Virginia and returned to coaching boys for two years. Jeff then took a job at the largest gymnastics facility in the U.S. at Kids First Sports Center in Cincinnati. He worked with boys’ team and preschool gymnastics. Jeff met his wife, Liz, at Kids First when they both worked in the preschool gymnastics program.
In 2010, Jeff returned to college to finish his degree. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2012 with an accounting degree. Jeff then worked for Grant Thornton, an international accounting firm, for over a year. His daughter, Charlotte, was born in June of 2013. Wanting to return to the sport he loved and having kept in touch with the coaching community over the years, Jeff applied for the MHG General Manager position. It was his honor to accept the position and moved to Minneapolis in July of 2014. Jeff, Liz, and Charlotte now live in Ramsey, MN. Jeff brings a unique perspective to the gym with his diversity of experience. He has 25+ years of coaching and judging gymnastics, mostly with boys. He has military and international business experience, along with working at a variety of gyms from Kansas to Virginia, then Ohio to Minnesota. Jeff has experience in gymnastics of all types, including boys, girls, cheerleading, tramp and tumbling and preschool. Jeff loves fantasy football and plays in several leagues. He loves spreadsheets and charts (no…really). But most of all, he loves spending time with his wife Liz and daughter Charlotte.
