Part-Time Kids Specialist/Sports Instructor

NOW HIRING FOR Immediate needs and Spring 2020! (Now-March start times)

Mini Hops Gymnastics is looking for caring, energetic and creative people to work with children ages 1-18 teaching life lessons through the sports of gymnastics, dance, karate and more. A love for children is required, experience in gymnastics is not.

Mini-Hops Gymnastics is a leader in teaching life lessons through sport to people of all abilities in the Western Suburbs of Minneapolis! Opportunities available in all programs!

Now hiring for after school hours and weekends. We are open 7 days a week 9:00am-8:00pm. Part-time positions available with paid training.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead children and their families toward healthy development
  • Lead fun and educational movement classes that challenge each individual child
  • Teach families how to play with their children and offer them ways to foster healthy growth and development
  • Encourage the development of children by using movement activities to teach life lessons.

Preschool Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics, Dance, Karate, Trampoline & Tumbling, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Adaptive programming, Adult, Birthdays and Camps!

Mini-Hops offers paid training, professional development, 401(k), advancement opportunities, CPR, and First Aid for all employees. Paid Time Off, Health and dental are available for full-time employees. Company sponsored certifications including USAG Safety Certification and concussion training are available for all coaches and staff. Wages and benefits commensurate with both coaching and life experience.

Karate Instructor

NOW HIRING FOR KARATE INSTRUCTOR!

Mini Hops Gymnastics is looking for caring, energetic and creative people to work with children ages 4 and up teaching life lessons through the sport of karate. Karate instructors enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching not only a set of physical skills and fighting techniques, but also instilling core values of martial arts. Values such as discipline, perseverance and integrity are central to the curriculum and make a lasting, positive effect in the lives of our students.

Part-time positions available with paid training. Currently, Tuesday nights from 4-7:30, but more hours could be added for the candidate that is willing to learn in other areas we have available while the karate program grows. A love for children is required, experience in gymnastics is not.

Responsibilities:

  • Break down and demonstrate techniques while helping students 4-15 years old perfect them
  • Monitor students’ progress and prepare them to advance in rank.
  • Test students throughout the year and hold short ceremonies to give students new belts.
  • Ordering and selling supplies and equipment such as uniforms and pads
  • Light cleaning of the Dojo and equipment
  • Know and teach the values and history of karate.
  • Answer questions and talk to parents about students’ progress.
  • Assist with promotional aspects of the program

Expectations 

Participants will be assisting in instructing children during classes, special events, as well as attending clinics (as available), and meeting with other participants and advisors on a consistent basis.

How do I apply?

Applications are accepted throughout the year with interviews for program placement in August & May.

Participants are committed on a quarterly basis but do not need to reapply once they are accepted into the program. Participants are expected to attend weekly meetings as well as actively participate on the coaching floor.

Quarterly reviews will be provided as well as recognition and recommendations at the end of the program.

Internships are unpaid.
